“DMD,” “Mercedes probably” – Fans erupt after AEW announces “wild card” entrant for Owen Hart Tournament

The AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament has always been an unpredictable affair, especially with each year having a wild card entrant. Fans have speculated who this could be and have named several top stars as possible entrants.

Similar to last year, the winner of the men’s and women’s brackets will earn a world title shot and will go on to All In. For this year’s tournament, the finals for both brackets will take place at Forbidden Door at the end of this month. As of now, it is still the opening round of the tournament.

In the women’s bracket, Athena was the first to advance after beating Mina Shirakawa. This coming week, the next set of matches will take place. One of these will feature Alex Windsor taking on the ‘wild card’. There are a lot of possibilities, considering how there are also non-AEW talent entered into this year’s tournament.

Fans began speculating on who this could be. The majority of them were able to single this out to either Britt Baker or Mercedes Moné, two top stars who have been away from TV for some time now.

Other names were brought up in the discussion, including Ruby Soho, who has not been seen in AEW in more than two years. Jamie Hayter has also been mentioned as Windsor hinted at this in a recent promo. One surprise name that fans speculated on was former TNA star, Dani Luna, who is currently a free agent after she was granted her release.

My mind went to Ruby Soho some reason.. is she still signed to AEW, is she retired now?

Jamie That backstage promo i think gave it away I would love for Jamie to go all the way tbh

Mercedes Mone? It is time to get her back on TV. Or Brit Baker, lmao.

Jamie, Dani, Mercedes or Ruby Soho
