Newly crowned Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn is apparently not above trolling Cody Rhodes after the former’s win.
Zayn and The American Nightmare had been at odds for quite some time before Night of Champions, and the involvement of Gunther only escalated the matter. The three faced off at the recent PLE, with Rhodes attempting to defend his belt, while The Ring General and Sami Zayn looked to get their hands on the gold. In the end however, it was Zayn who was able to pick up the victory, winning this title for the first time in his career.

Zayn recently took to X, sharing a picture himself with his new belt. In the caption, he wished Rhodes on his birthday, mockingly referring to him as his friend.

WWE veteran Vince Russo was not pleased with Sami Zayn’s win
While Sami Zayn has a sizeable fanbase, Vince Russo has never been one of his admirers.
After Zayn’s win at Night of Champions, Vince Russo went ballistic on the The Coach and Bro Show. He said that Zayn did not deserve the title in any way, and the booking decision made it clear that it was no longer about business.
“Look how the wrestlers react. Look at what they say. To say the guy’s been in the industry for 13 years and he deserves it? Bulls**t, bro. Sami Zayn didn’t win anything. You know how many guys have been in the business for 13 years? 17 years? 20 years? 25 years? Mr. Perfect and Scott Hall d*ed without ever winning a WWE World title. When wrestlers sound like marks, it’s freaking embarrassing to me. Sami earned what? He worked harder than all the other wrestlers you see out there working? Really? This, to me, is an absolute joke. It’s not about business anymore,” Russo said.
