SummerSlam 2026 is right around the corner and WWE is leaving no stone unturned to make it a monumental spectacle. This year, the company is heading into U.S. Bank Stadium to host The Biggest Party of the Summer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The excitement among fans is reaching its fever pitch. Three matches have already been made official so far, raising fans’ excitement to the fullest.
The upcoming episode of RAW and SmackDown could see a few other matches getting official. Several top stars like Charlotte Flair, Gunther, LA Knight, Jey Uso, Jade Cargill and many others are still directionless. However, this week could be monumental for many of them as they may finally get themselves on the card for The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Thanks for the submission!
Let’s take a look at 4 matches WWE can add to the SummerSlam 2026 card:
#4. Gunther vs. Nick Aldis
WWE’s biggest event of the summer is less than a month away and former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is still directionless. The one feud that seems plausible at this point is him facing Nick Aldis at SummerSlam 2026. The speculation of this match gained traction after The Ring General got involved in a physical altercation with the SmackDown GM backstage at Night of Champions.
WWE has currently put the two superstars off TV, stating that both are placed under administrative leave for their recent incident. This week on SmackDown, Gunther and Nick Aldis could come face to face once again to continue their story. There is a possibility that Triple H could use their potential segment to build a match between the two superstars for SummerSlam. This match is rooted in an explosive clash of authority and prize.
#3. Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair has been embroiled in a heated feud with Jade Cargill for the past several weeks on SmackDown. The two women have been going after each other every other week, and this rivalry has now become very personal. This week on SmackDown, WWE can officially book a high-profile match between Flair and Cargill, positioning them on the SummerSlam 2026 card.
This is a certified dream match built on the ultimate battle for division supremacy. Charlotte Flair has long been the gold standard of the WWE women’s division, a multi-time Women’s Champion who commands absolute respect. On the other side is Jade Cargill, who is a genetic phenom known for her unmatched physical aura and indomitable personality.
#2. CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes
A collision between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes seems destined for SummerSlam 2026 and this match may get official this week. Rumors have been swirling that The Second City Saint can return tonight on RAW and this could mark the beginning of his feud with Rhodes. Meanwhile, The American Nightmare may have the Undisputed WWE Championship on his shoulder by then.
WWE has been teasing Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk for quite some time now, with the most recent being their interaction on RAW after WrestleMania 43. With SummerSlam 2026 set to be held across two nights at the U.S. Bank stadium, this blockbuster clash would be a perfect addition to the card. WWE might make this match official this week, perhaps on the upcoming edition of RAW.
#1. Gunther vs. Royce Keys at SummerSlam
Before things boiled over with Nick Aldis, original insider reports suggested WWE’s primary plan for Gunther at SummerSlam 2026 was a feud against Royce Keys. A match between the two powerhouses would be a perfect addition to The Biggest Party of the Summer. Meanwhile, Keys also needs a blockbuster program at the annual summer spectacle to keep his momentum hot.
A clash with the former World Heavyweight Champion would give him massive exposure and keep him under the bright lights. Although Royce Keys and Gunther haven’t crossed paths yet, this week’s SmackDown could be where it all begins. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Ring General and the former Powerhouse Hobbs.
