The New York Knicks might be NBA champions, but that doesn’t mean business stops.
With veteran Mitchell Robinson leaving the Knicks for the Boston Celtics, New York has brought in another big to give Karl-Anthony Towns some relief in Andre Drummond. The 14-year veteran spent the past two years with the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 6.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 19.5 minutes-per-game in 63 contests.
New York won’t be leaning on Drummond (who turns 33 in August) for volume or meaningful minutes if things go to plan next season, but his experience could be valuable while he gives KAT the occasional breather.
“Robinson was a huge loss for them. I bring in a similar talent, similar energy, but I’m a veteran,” Drummond said after signing with the reigning-champs.
