UPDATE: Sheamus changes name and look following WWE exit

Sheamus was part of WWE for almost two decades before he announced earlier this month that he was walking away from the company. The news came as a shock to many fans and was reportedly due to his opting to turn down amendments to his WWE contract.

The former star has already started to make some changes to his name and look ahead of his return to the ring, and recently shared on his new Instagram page that he was 249lbs and now called S. Farrelly.

While this name was already announced, he has changed his Instagram name to SFarrellyOfficial, which means that his WWESheamus page is no longer in use. This could be the official confirmation that he is now done with the company.

When The Celtic Warrior initially made the changes to his social media a few weeks ago, he remained as WWESheamus, but this new post appears to be the introduction to his new persona.

The Irish star has also grown his beard and was wearing a wrap of the Irish flag on his head, since he is still recovering from a head injury that he suffered in the gym last month.

Sheamus isn’t the only WWE legend to exit the company in recent months

The former World Champion appears to only be the latest WWE star to reject a pay cut and opt to leave instead. It seems that TKO have been trying to change many contracts and this led to The New Day leaving the company earlier this year.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods opted to walk away when they were handed the same option, and now Sheamus has become the latest legend to leave under surprising circumstances.

WWE had a chance to hand The Celtic Warrior a retirement match or the chance to say farewell to the fans who have backed him to World Championships over the past few years, but this was taken away.

There was also the option of the dream match with Gunther, something that the Ring General himself claimed that he wanted, but that was completely taken off the table because of the contract negotiations.
