One key family member might lead LeBron James to the Warriors

For the fourth time in his career, LeBron James is in the middle of NBA free agency.

Big deals haven’t been signed, players haven’t moved, and teams haven’t done what they need to do as they all wait to know his next destination.

There have been conflicting reports citing he’s closer to joining multiple teams, with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors as the likeliest landing spots.

However, given his family’s dynamics, the Warriors might hold a big edge over their competitors, given that his family has established itself in Southern California and he would be much closer to home that way, according to NBA insider Marc J. Spears.

LeBron James might want to stay in California

In an appearance on 95.7 The Game’s “Willard and Dibbs,” Spears explained how joining the Warriors might make the most sense, especially given his recent comments on family and his decision:

“Daughter’s like middle school, right? Pretty much L.A. is all she’s known,” Spears said. “Wife has been in L.A. They’ve been there for eight years. I haven’t given up on the Warriors because of the family aspect. I think today that part got reinforced by what he said to Rich Kleiman.”

James discussed his free-agency outlook with Rich Kleiman during CNBC and Boardroom’s Game Plan event, and he admitted that his daughter, Zhuri, would play a big factor in his decision:

“It’s my almost 12-year-old daughter who is pulling the weight a lot,” James said.
