Olivia Moultrie has been placed on the National Women’s Soccer League’s Season-Ending Injury (SEI) List, the Portland Thorns announced on Tuesday.
The midfielder “sustained an ACL injury to her right knee in a training session last week,” according to the Portland Thorns FC. The club went on to state it will support Moultrie, who is 20-years-old, with “world-class care, recovery and rehabilitation.”
“Olivia is one of the most driven players I have been around, and she will use that drive during her recovery and rehabilitation,” Jeff Agoos, President and GM of Soccer Operations for Portland Thorns, said in a press release. “She has our full support and every resource this club can put behind her.”
The injury not only means that Moultrie will be out for the remainder of the 2026 NWSL season, but that she will miss the Concacaf Women’s Championship — which serves as World Cup and Olympic qualification. The tournament will take place this November/December in Texas.
Moultrie has started 15 of her 16 appearances for Portland this season, scoring five goals and providing five assists. The midfielder, who joined the Thorns in 2021, has made 79 starts in 108 appearances over the past six seasons.
Additionally, the U.S. women’s national team player has scored five goals in 18 appearances for the senior national team. She was part of the United States’ gold medal-winning team in the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup.
