    Devdutt Padikkal becomes 2nd batter after Joe Root to achieve rare WTC feat

    The India National Cricket Team is playing the second Test match against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (SSC) in Colombo. After taking a 0-1 lead in the series, the team started the second game with much confidence. During Day 1 of the 2nd match, Devdutt Padikkal yet again scored a hundred.

    Devdutt Padikkal has been in sensational form since the Ranji Trophy and carried the same form into the Indian Premier League (IPL). He got a recall to the Test squad for this series; however, in a turn of events, he was lucky to have featured in the first game, with Sai Sudharsan being ruled out of the series as he confirmed his place at No.3.

    Devdutt Padikkal achieves rare WTC milestone

    In the second Test match, yet again Padikkal showed his class and why he should be backed in the long run for the No.3 position in the Test side. He scored yet another hundred, backing his 167-run innings in the first Test match. The Southpaw achieved a record after smashing the hundred on Sunday.

    Padikkal on Sunday became only the second No. 3 batter to score multiple centuries in a series in World Test Championship history after Joe Root.
