    Blizzard is pulling out its big guns with Diablo 5, and with the BlizzCon 2026 reveal, we got a first look at the upcoming classes for the game. Set for release sometime in 2029, the devs promised a lot more class options, which isn’t surprising considering we’ll be facing the Lord of Terror. While the list includes returning classes from previous installments, it also adds a new one called the Plague Knight.

    We also got a glimpse of the story from the latest teaser, and it seems Sanctuary has fallen to the forces of hell, but that’s a different topic. For now, let’s focus on all confirmed classes for Diablo 5 so far.

    Diablo 5 will continue the story from D4 and bring us a fallen Sanctuary. As per the BlizzCon 2026 panel, the story focuses on the survivors and their struggle to take down Diablo. To do that, we’ll need a lot more manpower, and the recent class reveal is the first step towards it. Here are all confirmed classes for the game so far:

    1) Demon Hunter

    With twin crossbows as his primary weapon, the Demon Hunter brings back the hybrid melee and ranged gameplay. It’s one of the coolest-looking classes in the Diablo franchise, gameplay-wise, and a smart addition to the roster. After all, who’s a better pick to fight Demons of Hell than one of their sworn enemies?

    2) Plague Knight

    There are also going to be new classes in Diablo 5, with Plague Knight being one of the first. Not much is known about this one, but as per the reveal, this class is all about spreading disease on the battlefield and consuming its effect to buff yourself.

    3) Monk

    The Monk is another returning class from Diablo 3 and is all about various buffs and chaining combos, but can also implement magic in its fighting style. Since he is a dedicated devotee and strongly opposes the Lord of Terror, he is another great pick for Diablo 5.

    As mentioned earlier, the plan is to add more playable classes than any other title in the franchise and improve itemization to expand buildcrafting.

    While there is still a three-year wait for the next Diablo installment, the devs plan to share updates starting in 2027, so we expect more class reveals soon. That said, since it’s a completely new game, we can expect more Diablo 4 expansions leading up to it to keep us busy.
