Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian snubbed Holly Rowe following their thrilling comeback win over Ohio State on Saturday. However, while many rallied behind Rowe and offered their support amid the controversy, Jason Whitlock questioned her character, drawing a response from Cindy Brunson.

“I’m not going to defend Sark,” Whitlock wrote via X (formerly Twitter). “BUT. Holly Rowe is not some sweet, innocent little auntie. She calls herself a ‘siren’ for a reason. She’s not nice. She plays the nice role because that’s the only role available.”

This remark, however, earned a response from Cindy Brunson, who defended her colleague and slammed Whitlock for berating her, especially after being “dragged” on the “internet.”
“Please, Jason, not today,” Brunson wrote. “Stop impugning this woman’s character when she’s been dragged all over h*ll & back on the freaking Internet.
“Do you know for a fact she’s not nice? Bc I know she is nice & kind. I also can imagine instances where it would be very easy to be rude to you.”
Rowe became the center of attention after Sarkisian snubbed her during the post-game interview. The reporter was denied the chance to ask a question after the Longhorns’ win, as the head coach offered a short message before running off to celebrate.
“That’s called Texas fight! That’s called Texas fight! Hook ’em!” Sarkisian said.
The ESPN reporter was visibly annoyed after Sarkisian failed to complete his media duties, leading fans to create AI edits featuring her and the coach. The edits quickly went viral and added to the controversy.

Steve Sarkisian ignoring Holly Rowe quickly became one of the weekend’s biggest talking points. However, nobody else milked the situation more than Jason Whitlock, who used the moment to become Rowe’s biggest critic.
Discussing the controversy, Whitlock shared an image of Sark ignoring Rowe on X (formerly Twitter), while claiming this is how you “fix” America.
“This is actually how you fix America. You ignore the “sirens” here to destroy the patriarchy. Holly is disguised as harmless. She’s not. She tells you exactly what she’s about with her twitter handle. She’s not hiding her agenda. Why are you?” Whitlock wrote.
Rowe’s controversy with Sarkisian has been one of Whitlock’s biggest talking points this weekend, with the analyst not leaving any opportunity to take a shot at his former ESPN colleague.
