    Farken and Guillemot, World Road Mile Champions in Copenhagen – Athletics News

    Copenhagen hosts this weekend the 2026 World Road Championships, which began on Saturday with the mile events. Robert Farken and Agathe Guillemot have been crowned world champions, posting two of the year’s best global marks: 3:51.80 and 4:22.74, respectively.

    In the women’s race, Agathe Guillemot prevailed with a time of 4:22.74, ahead of Ethiopian Freweyni Hailu, who took second, and Kenyan Mirriam Cherop, who finished third. The French athlete thus secured the world road mile title with the year’s best mark.

    In the men’s race, Robert Farken took the gold with 3:51.80, ahead of American Yared Nuguse and Luxembourgian Ruben Querinjean. The Spanish Martín Segurola, the sole representative for the nation, finished in 15th place with a time of 3:56.92.
