This offseason has been an…interesting one for Kawhi Leonard.
But with the chaos of his time with Clippers behind him (at least for now), the 14-year veteran has signed a two-year, $115 million contract extension after officially reuniting with the Toronto Raptors.
Leonard returns to Toronto eight years after leading the Raptors to their first and only NBA title in 2018-19. In that playoff run he hit an iconic game-winner over Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, averaged 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists-per-game in the postseason and took home Finals MVP honors.
Now entering his age-35 season, Leonard is actually coming off of a career-high 27.9-ppg last year with the Clips, showing he still has plenty left to contribute to an NBA team despite the headaches that seem to follow him off the floor.
