GTA 6 Love Magazine feature reveals new story, character, and Vice City details

Love Magazine’s issue 27, featuring a long and detailed GTA 6 cover story, is now available for sale on newsstands in France. This physical-only issue reveals loads of new information about the upcoming behemoth title, including new details about Jason and Lucia’s rollercoaster story.

Here are all the details the GTA 6 feature reveals in Love Magazine’s issue 27.

All details about GTA 6 feature in Love Magazine

As soon as Love Magazine issue 27 was on newsstands across various French cities on Monday morning, reputed GTA reporter @videotech on X received pictures of the magazine from one of his followers, @topkaj777. The feature was four pages long, filled with details about Rockstar Games’ upcoming video game.

Rockstar Games’ extensive research to bring Leonida to life

The GTA 6 feature in Love Magazine begins with Rockstar Games heads of development Rob Nelson and Aaron Garbut talking about their research trips to Miami and neighboring cities in Florida.

    Garbut said:

“Every game we make starts with research trips. It’s where we get to explore both the place and our ideas as a group. We do multiple trips.”

Because of these long and detailed trips to the actual cities, Rockstar Games captured the essence and culture of Miami and neighboring cities to create Leonida and Vice City. The developers aimed to create a world so detailed that players find even the smallest of map areas interesting.

Aaron Garbut explained how the team flew over the Everglades for hours, flew over a stadium during a Beyoncé concert, and even hung out with residents, police officers, gang members, and more.

Rockstar Games’ senior vice president of narrative, Rupert Humphries, tasked an entire team of writers in the company’s Los Angeles office with writing pedestrian voice lines. This way, even the background noise of NPCs as Jason and Lucia walk around Leonida will feel authentic. The dialect, words, and tone will change depending on whether the character is in Vice City or Ambrosia, or anywhere else on the map.

Even the radio and advertisements were meticulously written, making it less of background chatter and more of foreground content that immerses players in GTA 6’s world.

How Jason and Lucia complement each other

Rupert Humphries also spoke extensively about Jason and Lucia’s characters with Love Magazine. In the feature, he explains that though Jason gets into the life of drug trafficking and robbery, a lot of the protagonist’s decisions are up to the player.

    Here’s what Rupert said:

“It needs to be understood that he takes the measures he does—drug trafficking and becoming a bank robber, etc.—because of his material circumstances. But a lot of this is up to the player to decide whether he needs to do that, or if it’s a choice he makes because he’s wired differently from other people.”

He then explained that Lucia is the other side of the same coin. She, too, gets into various criminal activities, but aims to get a better life and is determined to tackle any obstacles with force. This push-and-pull dynamic in their relationship will become a key narrative aspect in GTA 6.

Alexa D’Agostino, another Rockstar Games narrative writer, shared with Love Magazine that she thought of her own mother while writing Lucia. She created a character that was stern and aggressive, but also kind. The writer explained that she wanted to create a very realistic personality, with unique qualities but also flawed – someone who could match the likes of Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2 and Niko Bellic from GTA 4.

As GTA 6 gets closer to release, a vague outline of the game’s story is being revealed. The Love Magazine’s feature reveals even more details about Jason and Lucia’s adventures throughout Leonida.

Rupert Humphries explains that Jason and Lucia‘s story almost has a sense of naivety to it since they continue to commit crimes and push it to the limits, not realising the consequences. However, Raul Bautista’s entry in the story changes things, as the couple is introduced to high-stakes heists and how to execute larger robberies.

    Rupert told Love Magazine:

“There is something hopeful and naive about going on the run and pushing a crime spree to its limit without worrying about the consequences. With that in mind, we needed an older mentor character to bring them into the large-scale heists and set pieces that you expect in a big action crime saga like this.”

GTA 6 is set to release on November 19, 2026, almost 45 days from now. Rockstar Games has started marketing the game in all kinds of interesting ways, like collaborating with the NBA’s Miami Heat team for merchandise, decorating Kaseya Center with a Vice City sign, sharing information through top magazines, and much more.
