There’s no slowing Kenneth Walker III down, as the Kansas City Chiefs running back put up another monster performance on Sunday.
He ran for 177 yards on just 22 carries, averaging 8.0 yards per rushing attempt and scoring two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 30-27 win over the previously unbeaten Las Vegas Raiders. But his latest big game was just another one in an historic trend at the start of his debut season with the Chiefs.
Kenneth Walker III has already made history only four games into the season
Walker, 25, who signed a three-year, $45 million contract with Kansas City on the heels of being named Super Bowl LX MVP, the first running back to be so honored since Terrell Davis in Super Bowl XXXII, has been racking up yards ever since the 2026 season kicked off four weeks ago.
In fact, his 537 yards broke a record for most ever by a Chiefs player in that span of games and has even become the most for any running back in his first four games of a season in the last 15 years, surpassing DeMarco Murray’s 534 from 2014.
Walker is now on a record-breaking pace
And even going beyond recent memory, Walker is on an historic pace. While it’s based on a small sample size, the NFL’s current rushing leader is on track to finish with 2,282 yards, which would break Eric Dickerson’s single-season record of 2,105. Walker would then also become the 10th running back to ever reach or surpass 2,000 yards in a season.
