Shannon Sharpe drags Madison Beer after Justin Herbert goes 0-5: “I’d love to see another QB take time off to travel the country with their gf”

Shannon Sharpe criticized Justin Herbert after the Los Angeles Chargers fell 23-17 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Sharpe questioned Herbert’s decision-making and turnovers on Sunday’s episode of his podcast “Nightcap.”

“He just couldn’t close it. The guy we mentioned, he’s been terrible this year. Justin Herbert has been bad, awful, dreadful. Ain’t no making excuses,” Sharpe said.

He also questioned Herbert’s late interception against Denver.

“It’s like, I don’t know how in the h*ll he threw it right to buddy, bro,” he said. “He dropped back, he threw it right to him. I mean, it’s just, he’s been bad. He’s bad, he’s awful.”

Sharpe then brought up Herbert’s decision to travel with Beer during her music tour.

“I’d love to see another quarterback take time off to go travel the country with their girlfriend like they allowed Herbert to do,” he said. “I would have loved to see if some other quarterback had done something similar to that.”

Herbert missed the Chargers’ final two weeks of voluntary offseason workouts in May to support Beer on her “Locket Tour.” Harbaugh defended the decision, saying he was happy Herbert went to support her.

The Chargers now face the Kansas City Chiefs on October 18.

Justin Herbert defends Jim Harbaugh after Chargers’ loss to Broncos

Justin Herbert defended head coach Jim Harbaugh after a controversial fourth-down decision contributed to their 23-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Leading 17-10 in the fourth quarter, the Chargers attempted a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-one from their own 41-yard line with 10:33 remaining. Herbert was stopped short, and Denver scored a game-tying touchdown on its next drive before winning 23-17.

Herbert took responsibility for the failed conversion.

“I think it’s on me to get a yard,” Herbert said, per ESPN’s Anthony Gharib. “We got to be able to push and get a yard. I have complete faith in our guys and myself, and it’s on us to go get a yard and convert.”

The defeat dropped Los Angeles to 0-5. The scrutiny fell on Harbaugh, Herbert, and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. Herbert had nine turnovers and ranked 30th in passer rating at 70.2.
