“Forces women to level playing field with sexual favors”: Jason Whitlock points out reason for female NFL reporters trading sex for insider scoops

Former ESPN analyst Jason Whitlock drew attention on Saturday when he responded to Crissy Froyd for calling out the NFL media via an article in the Daily Mail. Froyd was fired by USA Today in April following her comments when New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini’s alleged relationship went viral on social media.

When Whitlock caught wind of Froyd’s article on X, he offered his take on the nuances in the NFL media industry.

“True sexism puts women in direct competition with men, which forces women to level the playing field with sexual favors,” Jason Whitlock tweeted on Saturday.

Froyd made controversial comments about Russini after a massive photo leak that showed her hugging, holding hands, and relaxing in a hot tub with Vrabel at a resort in Arizona.

Russini resigned from ‘The Athletic’ on April 14 after the publication opened an investigation into the matter. Vrabel missed Day 3 of the draft to seek counselling, but is expected to remain as New England’s coach for the 2026 season.

Jason Whitlock aims dig at WNBA star Angel Reese

On his “Fearless” podcast last week, Jason Whitlock aimed a dig at Atlanta Dream guard Angel Reese.

“That’s why Angel Reese is famous,” Whitlock said. “Had she not trolled Caitlin Clark while they were in college, everyone would be aware of and talking about Angel Reese is the most brutal basketball player we’ve ever seen.

“The most unskilled alleged star we’ve ever seen. She shoots the ball from her waist. She’s not trying to get better as an offensive player or a skilled basketball player.”

Reese, a national champion with LSU, has gotten off to a slow start in the WNBA this season. She is averaging 13.1 points., 11.0 rebounds and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Dream (5-2), who are leading the Eastern Conference.
