ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026: Prize money, awards and winners – All you need to know

Australia Women defeated England Women by seven wickets in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Lord’s in London on Sunday, July 5. The victory helped the Australians reclaim the coveted title after a dominant batting performance in the summit clash.

Batting first, England would have hoped for a strong start. However, Australia struck early to remove both openers cheaply. Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt held one end firmly with a composed half-century, while Freya Kemp provided the finishing touches with a quickfire unbeaten cameo to help England post a fighting total.

After the early setbacks, Sciver-Brunt and Alice Capsey steadied the innings before Kemp accelerated in the death overs. Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 58 off 53 deliveries, while Kemp smashed an unbeaten 44 off just 28 balls. Capsey also chipped in with a valuable 23 as England finished on 150/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Beth Mooney once again proved why she is one of Australia’s biggest match-winners in ICC events. The wicketkeeper-batter anchored the chase with a sublime 64 off 49 deliveries, while Phoebe Litchfield played a brilliant supporting role with a 35-ball 48. Their partnership all but sealed the contest in Australia’s favour.

Although Lauren Bell, Sophie Ecclestone, and Charlotte Dean managed to pick up a wicket apiece, England failed to build sustained pressure on the Australian batting unit. Ellyse Perry remained unbeaten on 13, with Ashleigh Gardner finishing the chase alongside her as Australia reached 153/3 in just 17.1 overs to clinch the title with 17 balls to spare.
