Former English journalist and newscaster Alastair Stewart recently slammed Novak Djokovic’s fans for being rude and unpleasant. He condemned the behavior of some fans amid the debate surrounding Djokovic before his final.
Djokovic advanced to a record-extending 15th Wimbledon semifinal after seeing off Felix Auger-Aliassime in what was The Championships’ longest-played quarterfinal. However, as the Serbian star is gearing up for his final-four round, Stewart noted the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s fans’ reaction, stating they are reacting aggressively to Djokovic’s criticism.
Thanks for the submission!
He also added that some of the fans’ replies are rude and lack class. Taking a swipe at the Serb’s fans, Stewart wrote:
“Djokovic fan base so charmless and inelegant.”
However, his observations did not land well with Djokovic’s fans, with a few of them having their own replies. One of the fans shared their adoration for the tennis icon and wrote:
“I am a great fan so that explodes your rudeness.”
Another fan brought up the June 2003 incident when Stewart was involved in a drink-driving crash in Hampshire, where he drove three times over the legal limit.
“It’s so charmless and inelegant to get behind the wheel of a car and risk killing people when you are 3x over the limit. How do Djokovic fans feel about being lectured by a drunk driver?🤔”
Novak Djokovic defeated Auger-Aliassime 7-6(10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7(4), 7-6(4).
Novak Djokovic reflects on his longest quarterfinal match at the Wimbledon Championships

Novak Djokovic prevailed through the five-hour and 15-minute quarterfinal against third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime at the ongoing Wimbledon Championships. In a press conference after his win, Djokovic highlighted that it was one of the best matches he has ever played. He also praised his young opponent for executing a tough fight.
“It’s exciting to be part of such an epic match that was played over five hours,” Djokovic said. “Just one of the best matches I was honestly part of in Wimbledon. I don’t recall playing this long in any match.”
“But it was really super even. Anyone’s game. Felix really played [at] a high level. He dropped his level a little bit in that super tie-break. I used all my opportunities and hung in there, played the right shots. That was enough. (1:00 onwards)
