On Thursday, October 1, defender Jordyn Bugg signed a multi-year contract extension with the Seattle Reign through the 2030 NWSL season. The 20-year old has become a mainstay with the Reign and has already gained much recognition for her defensive consistency in her two NWSL seasons.
“Jordyn represents so much of what we believe in and where we want this club to go,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore in an official team press release. “She has already established herself as one of the top young defenders in our league, and her maturity, competitiveness and commitment to getting better every day give us tremendous belief in what she can become.
Bugg’s two years in the NWSL have been impressive. She’s been named to the NWSL Team of the Month twice (in March and June 2025) and finished 2025 as a finalist for the Defender of the Year Award. She earned a placement on the NWSL Best XI Second Team at the end of the last season.
In addition to her performance club-side, she has also started to emerge on the international scene. She was called up by Emma Hayes to a US women’s national teams future camp in January 2025 and received her first senior national team call-up a few months later, in June 2025. She has made six total appearances for the USWNT so far.
