WWE star Nikki Bella shared her honest thoughts about her recent character change. The veteran has been involved in a personal rivalry with Paige on SmackDown.
Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, The Fearless One discussed turning heel at SummerSlam 2026 and attacking Paige. The former champion suggested that she was finally getting her groove back as a heel and finding her place on today’s roster.
Thanks for the submission!
“I’m finally feeling a lot like me. Like who I thrive to be, like in our Team Bella run, and my longest-reigning Divas Champion run. To break the fourth wall a little bit to a lot of the women on SmackDown, but I feel like I am finally just getting in my groove, finding my place. But the injury gave me a moment to really think of when I first came back I wasn’t fully prepared,” she said.
Nikki Bella discussed changing her character multiple times since her WWE return but noted that she is now where she wanted to be as a heel.
“I was going in a short amount of time, babyface, heel, babyface, neutral. And finally now it is like, no, she has arrived, and this is who she is. There is no babyface about me,” she added.
Nikki Bella missed WrestleMania 42 due to a severe ankle injury. She returned ahead of WWE SummerSlam and teamed up with Brie Bella and Paige at the PLE in a losing effort to Fatal Influence. After the match, The Bella Twins betrayed Paige and attacked The Anti-Diva. Brie Bella suffered a shoulder injury during the match at SummerSlam and is out of action due to the injury.
Nikki Bella discusses cheap victory over Paige on WWE SmackDown
Nikki Bella opened up about her cheap victory over Paige earlier this month on WWE SmackDown.
Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, the Hall of Famer discussed her victory over the former AEW star. Bella used the ropes for leverage during the pinfall, but the referee did not catch it. She suggested that they were expecting to have a much longer match, but plans changed ahead of the show.
“Our numbers ended up being the most talked about from SmackDown. Even though we thought we were going to have this like PLE match and I came in prepped for that, I love storytelling, so let’s continue this. I’m all about the story, so take it away, you put in that, and it’s great heat and get people talking. ‘When is this going to happen? What’s next?’” she said.
It will be interesting to see what WWE has planned for Nikki Bella in the weeks ahead on SmackDown.
