Brett Lee, a former Australian paceman, believes that Umran Malik should be quickly integrated into India’s test attack in the upcoming World Test Championship cycle without Jasprit Bumrah.
Umran made his international cricket debut in June, but since then, he has only sometimes displayed his full potential.

With his raw pace that made batsmen nervous and game gurus excited during the last IPL season, Umran Malik kept viewers on the edge of their seats. With a five-wicket haul and the quickest ball in IPL history, the youthful wonder from Jammu and Kashmir had taken 22 wickets in 14 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Umran was quickly added to the Indian T20I team and then made his ODI debut.
Since making his debut in June, Umran has only sometimes displayed his full potential in international cricket. In the two white-ball formats, where he played eight matches of each, he has so far taken 13 and 11 wickets, respectively. The 23-year-old has not yet been considered for his first-ever Test start. On India A’s tour of South Africa in 2021, he made his red-ball cricket debut.

Brett Lee Supports Umran Malik For India Test Debut:
Although Umran was not selected for the T20 World Cup team, Australia’s legendary paceman Brett Lee believes India should give Umran Malik a head start in the Jasprit Bumrah-less Test attack in the upcoming World Test Championship cycle.
In response to a question from Hindustan Times on whether India should try to quickly integrate Umran Malik into the Test setup, Lee wholeheartedly agreed while praising the young player.
“Why not? He is good enough in my opinion. He is a superstar in the making. He has got good pace, got nice action, and runs well with a beautiful approach. So yes he can be injected,” Brett Lee said on the sidelines of Legends League Cricket in Doha.
