The second day of the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books after selections were made in Rounds 2-3 on Friday.

With the potential of the New York Giants upgrading their defensive line at No. 36, the Texans traded up to get the former Ohio State DT. While the Texans excelled on the edge last season, their interior was not where it needed to be on one of the league’s best defenses.
McDonald was projected to go in the first round and is the top player at his position in the draft. Despite the slide into the second round, McDonald was invited back to the green room to hear his name called by commissioner Roger Goodell. His emotion was clear in an interview with ESPN’s Laura Rutledge.
“I’m just so thankful, just so emotional like, where I came from now I’m here,” McDonald said. “It’s a blessing.”
