Mercedes Mone has been away from AEW programming for around four months now. As her hiatus continues, the former multi-time champion has made an interesting change to one of her social media profiles.
Mercedes Mone’s 2025 ended on a heartbreaking note, as she lost her only singles title in All Elite Wrestling, the TBS Championship, to Willow Nightingale on Dynamite: New Year’s Smash. Following a humiliating encounter with The Babe with The Power and her friends in the aftermath of her defeat, the erstwhile Sasha Banks announced that she was going to take a break from AEW programming for an indefinite period of time.
Mercedes returned to in-ring action this past March, when she embarked on an international tour to defend her numerous independent circuit titles. Unfortunately, the month proved to be an exacting one for “Ultimo” Mone, who lost most of her belts to various opponents over the subsequent weeks. Now that she is completely stripped of gold, fans are anticipating the former WWE superstar’s imminent return to AEW television.
In fact, social media users recently noticed that Mercedes Mone has changed her Instagram profile picture. This seems to be further fuelling speculations of her comeback at some point in the near future.
AEW’s Mercedes Mone no longer has a belt collection
Mercedes Mone returned to the squared circle for the first time since this past December at CMLL La Noche De Las Amazonas on March 6, where she lost her CMLL World Women’s Title to Persephone. Couple of days later, she travelled to Italy, where Swan defeated her to capture the Bestya Women’s Championship.
On March 14, in France, Mercedes lost her EWA Women’s Championship in a title-for-title bout to Rixe Women’s Champion Mila Smidt. A week later in England, at RevPro High Stakes, she lost her BODYSLAM and DW Women’s Titles to Alexxis Falcon.
On March 29, Mercedes was unseated in Poland as the PTW Women’s Champion by Diana Strong. Two days later, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Mone was dethroned as the WPW Women’s Champion by Jody Threat. Furthermore, earlier this month, it was announced that she had vacated her only remaining title- the APAC Women’s Championship- due to certain logistical issues.
Now that her commitments outside of All Elite Wrestling have seemingly been fulfilled, it remains to be seen when The CEO will make her return to AEW TV.
