Major Superstar allegedly done with WWE

A major superstar might be allegedly done with WWE. In recent weeks, there has been a wave of cuts across the promotion, with close to 30 names leaving the company.

The first round of cuts saw the likes of Kairi Sane, Bo Dallas, and Aleister Black exit, while later, in a shocking development, The New Day left the promotion alongside JC Mateo and Tonga Loa of the MFTs.

While there are reportedly no further cuts taking place for the time being, former WWE name Jonathan Coachman believes LA Knight might be done with the company.

Speaking on Behind The Turnbuckles Studios’ Coach & Bro podcast, Coachman addressed a question from a fan who said Knight was being wasted. The former WWE commentator alleged that he thinks The Megastar is moving on since he has been used prominently after WrestleMania 42.

“Guys this is a hot take: I think LA Knight is done in the WWE. He wasn’t there last Monday night; he hasn’t been utilized in any of this stuff. I think that, for whatever reason, whether he’s just done dealing with Triple H and getting yelled at, or he makes too much money and they came to him and said, ‘We want you to take a pay cut.’ Because the word on the street is, it was a lot of talent, not just the New Day,” he said.

Coachman mentioned that Knight is someone who would command a good value on the independents and might realize he needs to make the switch sooner or later. He also compared his situation to The New Day, saying that he cannot wrestle every week.

“And I think that’s what the New Day did; they said, ‘We’re sitting around.’ Yes, you want to earn a lot of money, and that’s important, but sometimes the talent that’s been there, done that, they’re like, ‘I can’t give away another year or two, I’m getting older, and I can’t wrestle every week. I need to do this now.’ LA Knight is 43; he can’t wrestle every single week when you’re 43,” he added.

WWE reportedly scrapped plans for LA Knight

At WrestleMania 42, LA Knight teamed up with The Usos to beat The Vision and iShowSpeed in a six-man tag team match. However, he has barely featured on TV programming since then.

As questions about his future direction remain, a report from Bodyslam+ revealed his scrapped plans post-Mania.

The report mentions that the creative originally planned for the former US champion to have a short feud with Gunther following WrestleMania 42. However, the promotion pivoted in a different direction with the Ring General moving to SmackDown and going after Cody Rhodes‘ WWE Undisputed Championship.
