Tony Khan officially announces 4-time WWE Champion is returning to AEW Dynamite

AEW President Tony Khan made a huge announcement for the upcoming edition of Dynamite. The 2026 Double or Nothing is just a few days away. Apart from some important title matches, fans are excited for the Stadium Stampede match. The match was officially announced a few days ago, as tensions between Ricochet and Chris Jericho had grown over the weeks.

The former WWE Champion will make his return to the Jacksonville-based promotion. The last time he was seen on TV was when he accepted the Demand’s proposal for a Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing. During his absence in the past two weeks, both teams have been made official for the brutal contest.

The Demo God will be joined by the Hurt Syndicate, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Jack Perry, while The Demand will have the War Dogs, Mark Davis, and Andrade El Idolo. On the go-home Dynamite show of Double or Nothing, fans will get a preview of what might go down on the pay-per-view.

Tony Khan recently took to X and announced that Chris Jericho will return to Dynamite after two weeks, where he will team up with the Young Bucks against Ricochet, Mark Davis and Andrade.

    “#AEWDynamite & #AEWCollision 3-Hour Go Home Special! 8/7c, TBS & HBO Max THIS WEDNESDAY @KingRicochet / @AndradeElIdolo / @DUNKZILLADavis vs @IAmJericho / @YoungBucks Days before their #AEWDoN clash, Ricochet/Mark Davis/Andrade el Idolo will fight Young Bucks/Jericho, THIS WEDNESDAY!” he wrote.

The rumour mill worked nonstop over the past year while the former AEW World Champion was on hiatus from the company.

While speaking on the Coach and Bro Show, Tony Khan said that he chose AEW after becoming a free agent.

“It was a choice that Chris made that he’d rather be in AEW than wrestling anywhere else, and I think that’s awesome. He has always been consistent that he loves AEW. He wants to be here and I’m glad that he chose to be in AEW because that the choice he made because he was a free agent,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if Le Champion picks up a victory on Dynamite this week.
