“It’s a joke” – Former WWE writer criticizes Sami Zayn as champion

A former WWE writer believes that Sami Zayn as champion is a joke. Zayn captured the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions this past Saturday in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, Russo suggested that Sami Zayn would not bring any new viewers to the product after winning the title. The legend added that Zayn should not have been given the title simply because he had been with the promotion for over a decade.

“You’re going to tell me when Triple H makes a decision like that, and every other a** clown in the room, you’re going to sit there and tell me they’ve convinced themselves this is best for business and this is going to bring more viewers to the show? Is it that, or are we going to give Sami a big golden star on his forehead because of how hard he’s been working the last 13 years? It’s a joke, bro,” he said. (H/T: PWMania)

“I’ve missed a lot of things I wish I hadn’t in the last 15 months because of this injury but today is, by far, the one I wish I had been there for the most. He has brought out the best in me as both an ally and a foe. That’s because he is THE best. When you’re consistently that good for that long, you become undeniable. Sami becoming WWE Champion was inevitable. He has deserved that moment for a very long time and I am so happy to see him finally get it,” he wrote.
