Stephanie Vaquer breaks down in tears following WWE loss

Stephanie Vaquer broke down in tears following her loss at WWE WrestleMania 42. The veteran has not appeared since her loss at The Show of Shows earlier this year in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Vaquer lost the Women’s World Championship to The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan at WrestleMania. Following the match, Vaquer was emotional backstage, and the footage was shown during season 3 of WWE Unreal on Netflix. The former champion noted that it was the perfect time for her to lose the title because her body needed a break.

“I believe my body is asking for a break. I have too many years fighting and no stop and I didn’t take care of my body as much… it’s the perfect time for me to take care of my health,” she said. (H/T: WrestlingWorldCC on X)

IYO SKY won the Queen of the Ring tournament and will be challenging Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship at SummerSlam 2026. Morgan has not defended the title once on WWE television since capturing it from Vaquer at WrestleMania 42 in April.

Stephanie Vaquer was called up to the company’s main roster in May 2025. She captured the Women’s World Championship by defeating IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza last September. The veteran also won the NXT Women’s Championship before being called up to the main roster.

Stephanie Vaquer recently commented on her love for professional wrestling and how much it meant to her.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the INSIGHT podcast, Vaquer noted that wrestling was her passion and that she never gives herself a day off.

“I always thinking like I can do this better, so I need to study, I need to training I need to do this. But no, I don’t have a day off, and I feel good with that. It’s my passion. So I know it’s a sacrifice. Yes. But I love to sacrifice for this because it’s my passion. It’s my life. Wrestling is my life,” said Vaquer.
