Mysterio and Lee faced each other in NXT over the North American Championship. They faced each other at NXT Deadline in 2023, with Lee defeating Mysterio to win the North American Championship, marking his first title win in the company.

Speaking on INSIGHT, Lee broke character to praise Mysterio and recalled their match for the NXT North American Championship. He compared it to Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero.
“There’s a lot of talent, but some of the matches that I have more in my mind is with Dominik, that match with the North American Champion. Dom is so great. I have a good connection with him in the ring. Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like when I see that match, I feel like that’s much like when Rey Mysterio wrestled with Eddie Guerrero.”

Dominik Mysterio spoke about the importance of adapting in professional wrestling. The reigning AAA Mega Champion spoke about the unpredictability of the business.
Speaking on JaackMaate’s Happy Hour, “Dirty” Dom said:
“I would say being able to be adaptable. The nature of our business goes, you just never really know how the audience is gonna react. You never know how things might go, or things might change in an instant. You have an idea, and then right before you go out there, the idea changes or something gets moved, and you just have to adapt and change on the fly, or do what you need to do in that moment. So I feel like if you can’t adapt or can’t with the program, it’s gonna eat you up and spit you out.”
Dominik Mysterio will face Danhausen at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Danhausen has been feuding with The Judgment Day for weeks.
