Today, Scott Sports is launching a new lineup of electric bikes aimed squarely at commuters and urban riders. Scott’s new Sweep e-bikes are made to provide city riders with practical, convenient, and reliable transportation, with three distinct models to suit varying needs and preferences. All of the Scott Sweep models are built around Bosch’s new Hub Line motors and are loaded with useful features for everyday urban riding.

    Scott Sweep Details

Scott’s new Sweep e-bike platform consists of three models to provide riders with options to suit their needs and preferences. The Sweep 10 is a sporty, city-style ride with a traditional frame shape and a rigid fork. For comfort, the Sweep 20 switches to a 75mm suspension fork for a bit more forgiveness over bumps and less-than-perfect pavement. The Sweep 20 Wave keeps the suspension fork but ditches the top tube for step-through convenience.

All three Sweep models have a generally slim and minimalist frame design and are built with a lightweight alloy material. According to Scott, “the frame was engineered to combine stable riding characteristics, predictable handling, and stiffness, while maintaining the slim proportions that define the Sweep family.” Scott says the bikes are capable of handling up to 130kg while maintaining a light, responsive, and intuitive ride and handling feel.

Scott states that the Sweep was designed to be practical, uncomplicated, and easy to use. They claim that it’s easy to maneuver, carry, charge, and comes with everything riders need for everyday use. All models come with reliable components, fenders, lights, a kickstand, and a rear rack or side hangers for panniers (depending on the model).

    Bosch Powered

All Scott Sweep models are powered by Bosch’s new Hub Line motors. Bosch is one of the most trusted and reliable e-bike motor brands in the industry, and its new hub-drive motors are said to “deliver intuitive support that enhances the ride without dominating it.” Built into the rear hub, the Bosch Hub Line motor provides up to 45 Nm of torque and 400 watts of peak power in a lightweight package (approximately 2.3 kg) that is said to deliver smooth, balanced pedal assistance up to 25 km/h with its cadence sensor system.

That’s powered by the downtube-integrated 360 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, which should provide adequate juice for most urban settings and daily commutes. The bike’s battery is also easily removable for off-the-bike charging at work or home. Should you require additional range, the Sweep is compatible with the Bosch PowerMore 250 Wh range extender.

Bosch’s Purion 200 display is a handlebar-mounted all-in-one unit with intuitive controls and ride information at a glance. Like most Bosch systems, it is compatible with the Bosch Flow app for over-the-air updates, customization of pedal assist settings, and more.

    Scott Sweep Models

As mentioned above, the Scott Sweep comes in three models, each offering a slightly different design and features. The Sweep 10 is the sportiest of the bunch with a rigid fork and rear side hangers for panniers with a carrying capacity of 8kg. It comes in Signal White and in five frame sizes, S to XXL.

Both the Sweep 20 and Sweep 20 Wave are equipped with 75mm suspension forks, adjustable stems, and come with a Racktime carrier that can handle loads up to 25 kg and is compatible with SNAP IT 2.0 accessories. The Sweep 20 has a traditional step-over frame, while the Sweep 20 Wave has a step-through design and a more swept-back, comfort-oriented handlebar. Both Sweep 20 models come in Chrome Silver in four or five sizes, depending on the model.
