The ‘NFL sack leaders by season’ quiz

As the 2026 NFL season approaches, the rumblings of Aaron Donald returning to the Los Angeles Rams have grown louder and louder.

While the 10-time Pro Bowler who retired after the 2023 season hasn’t announced a decision yet, he did turn up for a workout at Rams training camp at Loyola Marymount on Wednesday. When head coach Sean McVay was asked about the workout, he jokingly said it was the “best tryout we’ve ever had. I think he could make the team.”

The rumors of the three-time Defensive Player of the Year dusting off his pads began when the Rams landed Myles Garrett in a trade from the Cleveland Browns with Los Angeles gearing up for a final Super Bowl run with quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Donald made the Pro Bowl every season in his first decade-long stint in the NFL, winning the 2014 Defensive Rookie of the Year and posting six 10-sack seasons. He led the NFL with 20.5 sacks in 2018, and he recorded two sacks in the Rams Super Bowl LVI victory over Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to lead the NFL in sacks since they were officially tracked as a statistic in 1982 can you name in six minutes?

    Good luck!
