LeBron James‘ friend, Cuffs The Legend, stirred LA Lakers fans online after making an early Western Conference prediction. The radio host predicted on Thursday that Luka Doncic and the Lakers would finish ninth in the West, a take that did not sit well with many fans.
Cuffs The Legend shared his prediction on X (formerly Twitter), listing the teams he believed would finish in the Western Conference’s Top 10.

The list quickly grabbed the attention of Lakers fans, who pushed back against James’ friend for predicting that Los Angeles would finish in the play-in spots.
“You used to have some good objective arguments. Now it’s just gross ragebait,” a fan wrote.
While most fans slammed Cuffs for predicting the Lakers to finish ninth, others flamed him for believing the Trail Blazers would finish above the purple and gold.
“Yooooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The Blazers and Suns?! Starting to sound like me with Drake,” a fan added.
With the Lakers entering a rebuild following LeBron James’ exit, Cuffs the Legend’s prediction does have some basis. However, the team has made some great moves this offseason, surrounding Luka Doncic with a very capable cast.
Austin Reaves will continue to play alongside the Slovenian in the backcourt, while Walker Kessler, Sandro Mamukelashvili, and Kevon Looney make up the frontcourt. The additions of Collin Sexton and Quentin Grimes also give the Lakers capable bench options.
However, while the Lakers have built a great team, they aren’t the only Western team to bolster their roster and will face a stiff challenge for the top spots, a thought process Cuffs The Legend, appeared to have when making his prediction.

The 2026-27 NBA season could be the last for a few more legends, with the NBA slowly phasing out the stars of yesterday as the next generation takes over.
