In the 100-meter dash at the European Championships in Birmingham, the queen of speed was crowned the Briton Amy Hunt with a time of 11.00 seconds, beating the Polish Ewa Swoboda by a mere two hundredths (11.02). Third place went to the Belgian Delphine Nkansa (11.06), who registered a personal best. The sole Spanish participant in the distance, Maribel Pérez, did not advance beyond the semifinals.
