In a match delayed 6 hours due to extreme heat and air quality issues in Denver, the Summit produced a much-needed win for their fans when Janine Sonis hit a free kick in stoppage time to defeat their closest geographical rivals, Utah Royals FC. Direct free kick goals are great. But we’re here to examine the Summit’s first goal of the night.
