    Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels issued a cease-and-desist to the LSU Tigers to stop the use of his name, image and likeness (NIL) after they gave his No. 5 jersey to DJ Pickett.

    Daniels, who won the Heisman Trophy with the Tigers in 2023, felt disrespected by the decision to let another player wear his jersey. However, his decision has received backlash from the NFL community.

    Outkick founder Clay Travis called out Daniels and his advisors after the controversial decision. Travis also criticised his mother, Regina Jackson, who is Daniels’ business manager and NFLPA agent.

    “Jayden Daniels should fire every person who advised him to send a letter to LSU complaining about his number being used,” Travis wrote on X. “Yes, even if it was his mom. Extraordinarily dumb.”

    Travis also raised questions about the letter, speculating if it was sent without the Commanders quarterback.

    “You won the Heisman trophy and you are on track to make hundreds of millions of dollars playing football,” he wrote. I think you’ve gotten plenty of respect. It’s also possible this letter was sent and he didn’t know, but if that’s true it’s even more reason to fire everyone.”

    NFL analyst Jason Whitlock accused Jayden Daniels’ mother of “driving” LSU controversy

    Apart from Clay Travis, NFL analyst Jason Whitlock also called Jayden Daniels‘ mother after his letter to the LSU Tigers. Whitlock claimed on his “Fearless” podcast that Regina Jackson was driving the issue.

    “What that violated was a feeling,” Whitlock said. “And feelings, when they get a lawyer, start writing policy for institutions that never agreed to the policy. Now, let’s look at who is driving all of this: Regina Jackson, Jayden’s mama, business manager.”

    Jackson is reportedly responsible for advising her son on major career decisions and has often been spotted with the Commanders quarterback’s side at off-field events.
