Team India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel was dismissed cheaply in the side’s second innings of the ongoing Galle Test against Sri Lanka. The 25-year-old scored just seven runs off 15 balls before departing in the 31st over of Day 4.
Jurel attempted a pull shot against a short ball down the leg side from Asitha Fernando. There appeared to be some deflection, and the ball went through to keeper Niroshan Dickwella.
Sri Lanka appealed for caught behind, but it was turned down by umpire Sharfuddoula Saikat. The hosts seemed pretty confident and went for a review. The UltraEdge showed a spike when the ball passed the bat, and the on-field decision had to be overturned.

Rishabh Pant launched a counterattack against the Sri Lankan bowlers following Dhruv Jurel’s dismissal. The southpaw was on 23 off 25 balls when Jurel got out. He shifted gears after that, putting the opposition under pressure with his aggressive batting.
He notched up his 20th Test half-century. The swashbuckling batter completed his fifty in just 53 balls with a stunning six off Lahiru Kumara in the 37th over. Pant’s entertaining knock ended in the 41st over.
He scored 66 off 69 balls before falling caught behind to a short ball from Kumara in the 41st over. Pant’s attacking batting helped India extend their lead past 350. At the time of writing, the visitors were 175/6 after 41 overs, leading Sri Lanka by 353 runs. Manav Suthar (1* off 3) joined Ravindra Jadeja (8* off 17) at the crease after Pant’s wicket.
