Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Fiorentina star Dodo, who is likely to move to the Premier League, and a deal could now be imminent.
It has been a relatively quiet summer transfer window for Forest to date, and Oliver Glasner is keen on more arrivals, as the Austrian looks to make his mark on the squad he inherited.
Speaking after a 2-0 friendly victory against Brest at the City Ground, Glasner said: “We have two or three additions in the pipeline, let’s say like this. It’s always two clubs, the player and the agent and as soon as these four parties find an agreement we will have another player.”
With Glasner using a three-at-the-back system, it may be particularly important to sign a new right-back, who is capable of making an impact further forward, which means Dodo could fit the bill, with the Brazilian registering six Serie A assists during the 2024-25 campaign.
The 27-year-old also created 51 chances in the Serie A last season, which was the second-highest number in the Fiorentina squad, and he remained a key player for the Italian side throughout the campaign, featuring for 3,139 minutes across 36 appearances.
Since signing for Fiorentina, the full-back has never played fewer than 33 games in a Serie A season, which indicates he could be a dependable option for the Tricky Trees, who are now locked in negotiations.

Nottingham Forest in talks to sign Dodo
That is according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb (via Sport Witness), which states Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Dodo, and a deal could be imminent.
In fact, Forest could make a breakthrough in their pursuit of the Fiorentina defender on Wednesday, with a move to the Premier League now regarded as ‘likely’, as he has entered the final year of his contract.
Glasner’s side have stepped up a move for the South American, and a breakthrough could be made within the next few hours.
However, Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz remains in the frame as an alternative option, with Glasner well-aware of the Colombian’s abilities, having spent time working with him at Selhurst Park.
Munoz would arguably be a safer bet than Dodo, considering he is already proven in the Premier League, making 82 appearances in the competition, and Forest have made an approach to sign the Palace star.
