There has been considerable speculation about Britt Baker finally returning to AEW after more than a year. A clarifying update has come out regarding the likelihood of this becoming a reality.
Sean Ross Sapp recently mentioned during a Fightful Select Q&A session that Britt Baker’s name was “brought up” during discussions for the Rebel Heart show in a few weeks. Sapp took to X/Twitter and clarified what this meant. He explained that her name was just mentioned, but that was as far as it went. No discussions took place about her possibly appearing on the show.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion has not been seen on the promotion since her match against Penelope Ford back in November 2024. She has not been seen in any capacity nor mentioned on TV since then.
“To be clear, we wrote that Britt Baker’s name was brought up regarding the Rebel tribute show. Nothing more. Not ‘discussions’, not ‘in talks’, not ‘planned to appear’,” he wrote.
According to reports, she has not been dealing with any injuries or underlying health issues and has just not been booked by the company.
Britt Baker’s recent whereabouts were revealed
During the same Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp also touched on Baker’s whereabouts while answering the inquiry. According to his personal knowledge and social media posts, she enjoyed her time at the beach and has been spending time with Rebel amidst her hiatus.
But as it stands, this in no way confirms that she may be making her blockbuster return. There has just been heavy speculation about this, as she is a close friend of Rebel and her former on-screen partner.
In 2024, Britt made brief appearances for the promotion, as she was even featured in a feud with Mercedes Moné for the TBS Championship. Following this, she began a series of on-and-off appearances, which ultimately ended with her last match in November. It remains to be seen if her hiatus may finally come to an end sometime this year.
