A legendary wrestler has died. The star, who held multiple titles over his life, has now died at 89 years of age.

Legendary wrestler and promoter Paul LeDuc has died

Pat Laprade shared the news that the former wrestler and wrestling promoter Paul LeDuc had passed away at 89 years of age. The star was one half of the LeDuc brothers and held multiple titles over his life. He was also married in the ring in Montreal and competed in front of the biggest crowd for a wrestling event in Quebec City. He started FLQ, and the promotion was a big part of the wrestling world for more than two decades.

His sons Carl and Yan, and his daughter Kim, survive him.

Leduc last wrestled in 2008. His team with his storyline brother Jos LeDuc made him famous, with the 6-year run between 1968 and 1974 making them extremely popular. When it emerged that the two had not been related in real life, it was a huge headline in Quebec, as most people had not known.

“Sad news in the wrestling world. Former wrestler and promoter Paul Leduc, one half of the famous Leduc Brothers, passed away this morning at the age of 89. During his career, Leduc captured the Grand Prix Wrestling, NWA Florida and NWA International tag team titles. He also famously married in the ring in Montreal in 1971 and competed against the Vachon Brothers in front of the largest crowd ever recorded for a wrestling event in Quebec City. In 2000, he founded his own promotion, the FLQ, which remained active for more than two decades. My deepest sympathies go out to his sons, Carl and Yan, his daughter, Kim, and all his loved ones.”
