“Prince of Japan” – Fans celebrate over NI-KI making history as first Japanese male artist to top Billboard 200 with ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN has achieved its first No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 with its latest album, The Sin: Bliss, marking a significant milestone for the K-pop group. Born in Japan, the artist became the first Japanese male artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as a group member.

According to Billboard’s chart preview, The Sin: Bliss opened at No. 1 on the U.S. album chart, placing ENHYPEN ahead of Ella Langley’s Dandelion and Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The milestone comes nearly six years after ENHYPEN made its debut in November 2020. Since then, the group has continued to expand its presence in the global music market, and The Sin: Bliss has added another major chart achievement to its career.

NI-KI celebrates ENHYPEN’s first Billboard 200 No. 1 as The Sin: Bliss surpasses 2 million sales

Following the chart announcement, NI-KI expressed his excitement over finally achieving a goal he had hoped to accomplish. In messages shared with fans on August 31, the ENHYPEN member said,

“Billboard 200 1st [place]! Crazy. Oh ma ga [oh my god]. [We] really did it. Yeah, another one of my dreams came true. [I’m] really going crazy. Yeah, this promotion is really no joke. What should I do? Yesterday, too, I had opened a bottle of whiskey that I had kept for a long time because I felt really good. [I] really wanted to do [Billboard] 200 1st [place] someday. It’s craaaaazy that we received that for this album,” said the singer.

The milestone comes with The Sin: Bliss becoming ENHYPEN’s seventh album to enter the Billboard 200’s top 10 since 2022. The group had previously peaked at No. 2 on two occasions, with Romance: Untold achieving the position in 2024 and The Sin: Vanish doing so earlier in 2026.

The Sin: Bliss earned 98,000 equivalent album units in its opening week, including 92,000 units from traditional album sales. Released on August 21, the album has also surpassed 2.02 million copies in cumulative sales, making it a double-million seller.

The release represents a new chapter for the group as it is the group’s first album following Heeseung’s departure and the group’s transition to a six-member lineup. The Sin: Bliss is the second entry in the group’s The Sin series and contains 10 tracks, led by the title song Bloody Paradise alongside B-sides such as Two Fools.

The Billboard 200 ranks albums in the United States using a combination of album sales, digital sales and streaming activity, with different forms of consumption converted into equivalent album units.

ENHYPEN also achieved a notable domestic record with Bloody Paradise. The song secured first place on all five major weekly Korean music shows — Show Champion, M Countdown, Music Bank, Music Core and Inkigayo. The group consequently joined BTS as the only artists to complete the music show Grand Slam in 2026, despite having only two to three days of tracking during their first week.

The group’s Billboard success comes amid its ongoing BLOOD SAGA World Tour. The group began the tour with three Seoul concerts from May 1 to 3 before continuing through multiple cities across Asia, the United States and Latin America. Its most recent performances were held at Busan’s Sajik Arena on August 8 and 9.

Following the scheduled September break, ENHYPEN is set to return to the stage in October. The group will perform three consecutive concerts at Galaxy Arena in Macau on October 16, 17 and 18.
