Steady San Diego keep rolling
The San Diego Wave are among the most in-form NWSL teams as the regular season enters its final stretch. They have also been the most consistent. Jonas Eidevall’s side has been above the playoff line every week since Matchweek 2; something no other team can boast. They have had several significant transitions and taken it all in stride. Kailyn Sheridan, Savannah McCaskill, Delphine Cascarino and Hannah Lundkvist were key cogs in their 2025 line-up and have all since departed. San Diego also managed around season-ending injuries to Trinity Armstrong and Dudinha this season. Cat Macario’s unavailability has barely created a ripple.
San Diego are primed to clinch a home playoff game for the first time since their Shield-winning season in their expansion year in 2023. They are behind only Kansas City for the best home record in 2026. They have lost just once at home since the summer international break. They are in the midst of their longest regular season home winning streak in team history. They have just one more regular season game at SnapDragon Stadium and will then look to keep up the momentum with a probable home quarterfinal match.
