Cody Rhodes recently lost to Randy Orton at Sunday Night’s Main Event. While The American Nightmare may have suffered a setback in WWE, he and his wife, Brandi Rhodes, have a reason to celebrate.
The couple is celebrating their 13th anniversary. Rhodes took to Instagram and penned a heartfelt message for his wife, along with several pictures of them.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes met during their time in WWE in 2011. The couple became engaged the following year and tied the knot in 2013. They welcomed their daughter, Liberty Iris, in 2021, and Leilani Ella in 2025. Cody and Brandi have become one of the most popular real-life couples in the wrestling industry.
Cody Rhodes reveals why WWE got “mad” at him
Speaking with James Sweetnam of Sporf, Cody Rhodes recalled an instance when WWE was unhappy with him. The American Nightmare played the character of Undashing Cody Rhodes during his first run with the company.
The gimmick came about when Rhodes suffered a legitimate nose injury during a match against Rey Mysterio, completely changing the direction of his ‘Dashing’ character.
During this time, the global juggernaut asked Rhodes to put bags around “ugly” fans, but he refused to do it, which made the company “mad.”
“They always would get mad at me backstage because I wouldn’t put them on the ugly people. But that’s because I’m not going to seek someone out and shove a bag on their head. That seems like assault; versus the fans in the crowd, they’re like, ‘I want the bag.’ It was always a bit,” he said.
It remains to be seen what’s next for The American Nightmare following his loss to Randy Orton at SNME.
