WNBA fans went wild online after seeing A’ja Wilson‘s incident with an arena staffer.
Before the Las Vegas Aces‘ season finale, Wilson accidentally bumped into an arena staffer. Unfortunately, she struck a member of the production crew who was blind to the team behind the curtains as they ran toward the court. The entire team had to stop to help the staff after the incident.
Fans reacted online after Wilson trucked the innocent staff member.
“A’ja, Green Bay Packers could use you,” a fan said.
“She got smoked,” another fan commented.
“She came flying out and instantly chose pure chaos,” one fan said.
More WNBA fans reacted to A’ja Wilson’s pregame incident.
“Feet weren’t planted. No foul,” someone commented.
“At least she can say she met A’ja,” a comment read.
“Blocking foul, easy call. Gotta set those feet,” one fan commented.
On Thursday, Wilson and the Aces played the final regular-season game against the Phoenix Mercury. It was a promising end to their campaign, securing a 100-82 win. The star forward led the team with 34 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
The Aces’ win led them to a No. 3 finish in the WNBA standings. Wilson and her team will face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the first round of the playoffs. It’s a rematch of last year’s second-round postseason clash for these two teams.
Wilson led Las Vegas past Indiana through five games, averaging 24.0 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks. Game 1 between the Aces and the Fever will be at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday.
A’ja Wilson Made WNBA History in the Final Week
A’ja Wilson led the Aces to a strong 4-0 finish after the WNBA’s FIBA break. Wilson led the league with 27.8 points and was named the Player of the Week for the fifth time this season. Her latest weekly honor brings her total to 33, matching the all-time league record.
Former WNBA star Tina Charles was the first player to win the Player of the Week award 33 times. Even more interesting is that Wilson now holds the most wins of the honor in the Western Conference.
The WNBA star finished the season strong. She averaged 26.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 blocks. A’ja Wilson strengthened her bid to potentially win the MVP award. In the latest edition of the league’s race to win the honor, Wilson is in the No. 1 spot.
If she wins the Most Valuable Player award this season, it will be the fifth time in her career.
