AEW Grand Slam France was a huge success. This TV special happened in two parts. Both Grand Slam France: Dynamite and Grand Slam France: Collision featured several high-profile matches. One such bout was Andrade vs. Michael Oku, where the former won and retained the AEW National Title. After that, a popular star showed up, and the crowd gave him a thunderous reaction.
Andrade issued an open challenge for his National Championship after defeating Oku. A few seconds later, former TNT Champion Tommaso Ciampa’s music hit, and fans in the arena went berserk. They serenaded the Psycho Killer loudly by singing his theme song and cheering him on. This was an amazing moment. Even though Ciampa is currently a heel, the crowd treated him like a hero because, after all, he is one of the most talented wrestlers in the modern era.
Ciampa and Andrade then came face to face, and the former attacked the Champion. He made his intentions clear. He wants the Mexican native’s gold. They will clash at WrestleDream this month, and fans expect their match to blow the roof off.
Tommaso Ciampa heaps praise on AEW
Tommaso Ciampa made his All Elite Wrestling debut in January. He is having a good run and is hopefully, he will end this year on a strong note. In a February interview with 9News, the former WWE star showered the Tony Khan-led promotion with praise. He said there is nothing like AEW, especially the live shows.
“All Elite Wrestling is like nothing else on this planet, especially live. Live pro wrestling is unparalleled, and what they’re doing right now, what we’re doing right now at All Elite is just incredible. The crowds, the atmosphere, it’s just there’s a little bit of something for everybody between Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale and Orange Cassidy. We get a good mix of every kind of genre of pro wrestling. It’s just been a blast so far,” he said. [H/T: Fightful]
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Tommaso Ciampa. He has a strong worldwide fan base and is a World Championship contender.
