    Cristopher Sanchez’s scoreless streak ends as fifth-longest ever

    Cristopher Sanchez finally allowed a run on Wednesday night.

    Thanks to a Jackson Merrill RBI single in the top of the seventh inning of the Philadelphia Phillies‘ 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres, Sanchez’s consecutive scoreless inning streak officially came to an end at 50.2 innings.

    At 50.2 innings without allowing a run, Sanchez not only set the Phillies franchise record, but he also posted the fifth-longest scoreless streak in Major League Baseball history.

    It falls just 8.1 innings short of Orel Hershiser’s record with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
