Conor McGregor seems to understand the troubles Dustin Poirier is going through currently and had some advice for the retired UFC star.
‘The Diamond’ was recently arrested for public drunkenness at an airport. He almost fought a police officer too, but later apologized for his behavior and added that alcohol was causing problems in his life.
McGregor and Poirier have fought thrice in the UFC, and ‘The Diamond’ beat his rival in the last two meetings.
The pair have also traded barbs on social media, and there is a lot of animosity between them. However, McGregor seems to have taken a different path regarding Poirier’s troubles.

Sonnen also addressed these comments while speaking to Ariel Helwani:
“I asked him about Dustin Poirier. With everything that Dustin’s going through and their relationship.
He added:
“Conor said, ‘If I was to tell Dustin something, I would tell him to take this deadly serious.’”
Sonnen revealed that while McGregor did say some other things about Poirier, but the Irishman’s warning was real:
“But, he said, ‘Take this deadly serious, the world is showing you something, listen to it.’ I thought it was powerful.”

Dustin Poirier open to fourth Conor McGregor fight
Dustin Poirier has consistently stated that he misses the fight game, despite retiring from the sport after a loss to Max Holloway.
However, the American is still under contract with the UFC and recently claimed that he wouldn’t mind returning if the right fight was offered to him.
Conor McGregor remains an option for ‘The Diamond’, but he was also keen on finishing some other stories. ‘The Diamond’ had this to say while speaking to One on One:
“I’m still under contract with the UFC. There’s definitely a chance. If it’s the right fight, I’ll come back for sure. I’d probably fight Conor if that came about. Nate Diaz, I’d come back for that. There are a few I’d come back for, me and [Justin] Gaethje are 1-1, that needs closure too.”
