Cody Rhodes Must Turn Heel, Believes WWE Hall Of Famer

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes is among the most beloved babyfaces in professional wrestling. However, a wrestling veteran believes that The American Nightmare has to turn heel.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff opined that the former Undisputed WWE Champion’s current character has run its course and must turn heel. He added that Rhodes could switch back to being a babyface after some time.

The former RAW General Manager stated that WWE was also in dire need of a vicious heel character. Bischoff further claimed that Cody Rhodes had the potential to be the best heel of the generation.

“I think Cody has to turn heel. I feel that strongly about it because he’s played this character out. You’ve still got some juice left in that lemon. Let it go while there’s still juice in it, because he can come back to it at some point. WWE needs a vicious heel, like lie, cheating kind of heel, not a bad**s heel. You need somebody slippery, somebody greasy. If he were to embrace it, I would predict he would be one of the best heels of our generation. He has the potential to do that,” said Bischoff. Despite him being a beloved babyface, Cody Rhodes’ actions have been questionable during some of his high-stakes matches, teasing that a heel turn could be around the corner. It remains to be seen if and when WWE decides to pull the trigger on the much-anticipated heel turn.

SPOILER: Cody Rhodes scored a massive win on WWE SmackDown

The July 3 edition of Friday Night SmackDown was pre-taped after the latest edition of Monday Night RAW.

Earlier this week on the red brand’s show, Oba Femi gave up his chance to challenge for a title at SummerSlam in order to wrestle Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match at the premium live event. Seth Rollins also showed up to challenge Roman Reigns for a World Heavyweight Championship match. The bout was later made official for The Biggest Party of the Summer.

In order to determine the number one contender for the other major title, the Undisputed WWE Championship, Cody Rhodes wrestled Jey Uso on the SmackDown taping. The American Nightmare defeated The YEET Man to earn a shot at the title he lost to Sami Zayn at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event.

It remains to be seen if Cody Rhodes can win back the Undisputed WWE Championship.
