Two major AEW stars will debut in the ring later this week on Collision. Former WWE Tag Team Champions, the Motor City Machine Guns, are one of the most beloved tag teams in the industry. They made their WWE debut in 2024 and captured the WWE Tag Team Championship in no time. However, this was the highest point of their career in the global sports entertainment juggernaut. After a few months, the duo was rarely featured on TV and was eventually released from the company in April 2026.
In July, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley made their AEW debuts on Collision. Unfortunately, they weren’t featured in the Jacksonville-based promotion for the remaining episodes leading up to All In. While fans were upset about their absence, the Motor City Machine Guns made their presence felt at Wembley Stadium. The duo returned at the pay-per-view and shared the ring with FTR, Young Bucks, New Level, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
On the post-All In Dynamite, it was announced that the Motor City Machine Guns would make their in-ring debut against The Swirl (Lee Johnson and Blake Christian) on Collision this Saturday.
AEW star Adam Copeland teased a match against Motor City Machine Guns recently
At All In, AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage confronted Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley after defending their titles against The Young Bucks.
However, while speaking on Westwood One Sports Night in June, the Rated-R Superstar teased a match against MCMG before the tag team was even All Elite.
“When you look at this tag team division, to me, there’s no question it’s the best tag team division in the world. You just look at all of the possible matches, and it’s just like, man, it really is like a mu*derer’s row of tag teams. And then if you were to throw in teams like the New Day and Motor City Machine Guns on top of that, like, come on,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for MCMG.
