Spain closes the World Masters Championship in Daegu with an excellent haul of 90 medals: 33 golds, 29 silvers and 28 bronzes, which place our country in seventh in the world medal table and fourth among European nations. A result especially noteworthy in a championship shaped by high temperatures, humidity and some logistical problems, and that again confirms the strong form of Spanish masters athletics, with standout figures such as Rosa Escribano, Esther Pedrosa, Jane Wickham, Iván Morales or Celso Curiel, in addition to several national records and Wickham’s European record in the 2000 metres obstacles W65.
