    Andrade Reveals When He Will Return To WWE-Owned Promotion

    Former WWE star Andrade El Ídolo officially made his return to AEW earlier this year. The 36-year-old is having an amazing run in the Tony Khan-led promotion. He is a member of the Don Callis Family and is seemingly a future AEW World Champion. Furthermore, he is an NJPW regular, where he is a member of United Empire and the reigning IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion.

    El Ídolo’s previous employers are the owners of the Mexican wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The sports entertainment juggernaut purchased the company last year. They have been thriving under new ownership. Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is the reigning AAA Mega Championship, which is the promotion’s highest accolade.

    Andrade had a short AAA run a few years back. Although he only wrestled a few matches, his time there was memorable. The Don Callis Family is quite active on social media, and an anonymous user recently asked him an interesting question.

    The user asked the AEW star when he will return to AAA. The former NXT Champion sarcastically responded by saying that he will make his comeback to the WWE-owned promotion in 2045.

    The former WWE star evidently does not intend to return to AAA. His response was unserious because by 2045, he will be in his mid-50s. He will probably be retired or way past his prime by then. Nevertheless, the world of professional wrestling is unpredictable, and stranger things have happened.

    AEW president Tony Khan praises Andrade

    Andrade El Ídolo has established himself as one of All Elite Wrestling’s biggest stars since his return. He recently won the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship by dethroning Yota Tsuji at night 1 of Wrestling Dontaku.

    In a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, AEW president Tony Khan praised the 36-year-old. According to him, the Don Callis Family member is currently at his best.

    “We have Andrade El Idolo, who’s returned very recently to AEW. And he is truly, I think, at his very best right now I’ve ever seen him,” said Khan.

    It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Mexican star. Hopefully, he will win a singles title in the Jacksonville-based company this year.
