Former WWE superstar Dana Brooke, aka Ash by Elegance, has been dealing with a medical situation for some time now. This even led to her briefly retiring from in-ring competition last year at TNA Victory Road.
She did re-sign with the promotion and returned to action earlier this year. However, in April during an interview to promote TNA Rebellion, she mentioned that she is still dealing with health issues. She said her current condition has been described as a “medical mystery,” and she was still seeking a full diagnosis for it.
Thanks for the submission!
Now, in a fresh update shared on X, the 37-year-old star sought prayers as she prepares to undergo surgery.
“Surgery time! Prayers up! Adds to my story I will share & hopefully help others going through what I am! Trust me you are not alone!” she wrote and shared a photo from what looked like a hospital bed.

Ahead of TNA Rebellion, she also noted that her health has been “shaky” for the last couple of weeks but was determined to make it to the event.
She did end up competing on the pay-per-view on April 11, as The Elegance Brand defeated Mickie James, ODB, and Taryn Terrell in a six-woman Hardcore Country tag team match.
Brooke performed in WWE until 2023 before being released. She then joined TNA in 2024. During her run in the Stamford-based promotion, she won the 24/7 championship 15 times.
Dana Brooke said WWE never gave her a fair shot
Dana Brooke started her WWE career in 2013 and joined the NXT brand. After spending close to four years in the developmental, she moved to the main roster in 2016.
She aligned with Charlotte Flair and had some notable matches against some top names in the women’s division. However, she never broke out in the way it was expected and didn’t win a title in the division.
In April, during an interview with the Generation of Wrestling podcast, Dana Brooke said that TNA gave her the confidence she needed, as WWE never gave her a fair shot.
She said she did everything she was asked but still found herself away from the main event status. In TNA, she has won the Knockouts World Championship once and also held the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.
